“The Natural” will of course went home with more than just bumps and bruises — he now has an additional cool quarter million in his bank account, which could will more than likely help soften the blow of losing his belt … a little.

Gabriel Gonzaga also cashed in, earning $110,000 for his lighting fast destruction of Josh Hendricks.

Keep in mind the salaries listed above do not include fight bonuses, sponsorships, percentages and other unofficial payments. It also does not include deductions for expenses such as insurance, taxes, etc.

The total base fighter payroll for the blockbuster PPV event, which attracted a near sellout crowd of 14,272 fans and a huge gate of $4.8 million, was $1,118,000.

More UFC 91 preliminary drug tests come back clean from NSAC

The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) yesterday confirmed that two additional fighters have passed initial screenings for drugs and illegal substances prior to their clash at UFC 91: “Couture vs. Lesnar” on Saturday, November 15.

Lightweights Mark Bocek and Alvin Robinson join UFC Heavyweight Champion Randy Couture, Brock Lesnar, Nick Catone, Amir Sadollah, Aaron Riley and Jorge Gurgel as competitors who have been tested several weeks out from fight night to eliminate the possibilities of “cycling off” performance enhancers such as steroids.

This is real good news after getting confirmation just yesterday that Chris Leben got popped with illegal steroids in his system after his fight against Michael Bisping in the main event at UFC 89: “Bisping vs. Leben” on October 18.

It’s a proactive and unique measure — often referred to as the new “out of competition” testing policy — that the NSAC has adopted to curtail and prevent the use of banned substances.

If a positive test is returned early, which would essentially devastate a major PPV event such as UFC 91, “the commissioners would decide” on a course of action based on the results, according to NSAC Executive Director, Keith Kizer.

These fighters — along with other random participants slated to compete on the card — will likely be tested again right around fight night. It is merely an extra layer of protection to ensure good clean fights when it comes time to bang.

UFC 91 takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, and will air on pay-per-view (PPV), beginning at 10 p.m. ET.

UFC 91 results and LIVE fight coverage for ‘Couture vs. Lesnar’ PPV event Nov. 15

With UFC 90: “Silva vs. Cote” in the books we might as well look toward the future and the next major event for the promotion, UFC 91: “Couture vs. Lesnar,” which is being billed as the “biggest fight in UFC history.”

That because the UFCs biggest heavyweight — and perhaps its biggest box office draw — Brock Lesnar is challenging mixed martial arts legend and UFC Hall of Fame inductee, Randy Couture, for his heavyweight title. It will be the first fight for “The Natural” in about 15 months.

Top lightweight contenders Kenny Florian and Joe Stevenson will clash in the co main event, fighting for the right to be declared the number one contender in a very crowded 155-pound division.

Let’s take a look at the complete UFC 91 fight card:

Main event:

265 lbs.: UFC Heavyweight Champion Randy Couture (16-8) vs. Brock Lesnar (2-1)

Main card (Televised):

155 lbs.: Kenny Florian (10-3) vs. Joe Stevenson (29-8)
185 lbs.: Amir Sadollah (1-0) vs. Nick Catone (5-0)
265 lbs.: Gabriel Gonzaga (9-3) vs. Josh Hendricks (14-4)
185 lbs.: Demian Maia (8-0) vs. Nate Quarry (10-2)

Under card (May not be broadcast):

170 lbs.: Dustin Hazelett (11-4) vs. Tamdan McCrory (9–1)
155 lbs.: Jorge Gurgel (12-4) vs. Aaron Riley (26-10-1)
155 lbs.: Jeremy Stephens (13-3) vs. Rafael dos Anjos (11-2)
155 lbs.: Alvin Robinson (9–3) vs. Mark Bocek Record (5-2)
185 lbs.: Matt Riddle (1-0) vs. Ryan Thomas (9-2)

UFC 91 is set go off LIVE from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on pay-per-view (PPV) (November 15) at 10 p.m. ET. Tickets are still available — to check out the remaining seats click here.

MMAmania.com will provide LIVE blow-by-blow, round-by-round coverage of the main card bouts, beginning with the 10 p.m. ET PPV telecast. In addition, we will deliver up-to-the-minute quick results of the under card action at around 8:30 p.m. ET on fight night.

Alvin Robinson vs Mark Bocek UFC 91 fight confirmed

The rumored lightweight match up between Alvin Robinson (9–3) and Mark Bocek Record (5-2) has been confirmed for UFC 91: “Couture vs. Lesnar” at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on November 15.

It’s a 155-pound bout between two talented fighters who have struggled ever since making their respective Octagon debuts.

Robinson — the Ring of Fire lightweight champion — lost his debut to Kenny Florian in the first round of their UFC 73: “Stacked” bout via submission (strikes) back in 2007. He rebounded to beat Jorge Gurgel to a bloody pulp at UFC 77: “Hostile Territory” en route to a unanimous decision win several months later.

However, the winning feeling was short-lived when Nate Diaz submitted him with a triangle choke at UFC - Fight Night 12 at the start of the 2008 fight campaign. Robinson apparently took some time off this year to address some injuries that plagued him up until that point and now he’s ready to rock once again.

Bocek is among the most accomplished Brazilian jiu-jitsu specialists from Canada to transition to mixed martial arts. The former ADCC competitor, however, could not defend a submission attempt from Mac Danzig in his last appearance, losing via third round rear naked choke at UFC 83: “Serra vs. St. Pierre” back in April.

He has one win (unanimous decision) over Doug Evans at UFC 79: “Nemesis” and one loss (technical knockout) to Frank Edgar at UFC 73.

UFC 91 will feature the first round of the “heavyweight tournament” to declare an undisputed champion — division kingpin Randy Couture will return to action and put his belt on the line against Brock Lesnar in the main event. Kenny Florian and Joe Stevenson will also hook ‘em up in a lightweight contest in what appears at this time to be the co featured bout of the evening.
