The Ultimate Fighter 7 runner-up CB Dollaway (7-1) will make his third straight Octagon appearance when he takes on Mike Massenzio (11-2) at UFC 92 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on New Year’s Eve weekend according to FiveOuncesOfPain.com.
“The Doberman” was supposed to fight Jorge Rivera on the same card; however, it appears that Massenzio has replaced him for reasons unknown at this time.
Dollaway was unsuccessful in his bid to win it all at the TUF 7 Finale on June 21, losing to eventual tournament winner Amir Sadollah via first round submission (armbar).
The Arizona Combat Sports-trained fighter was able to rebound in his next appearance and score an impressive submission victory over Jesse “Yellow Submarine” Taylor less than a month later at Fight Night 14 with a rare “Peruvian necktie.”
He is a strong wrestler out of Arizona State University (ASU) — a key strength that will match up similar to that of Massenzio’s, a two-time high school state wrestling and a national junior college champion from Bergen Community College out of Paramus, N.J.
Massenzio was among several talented fighters the UFC signed to multifight contracts after the now defunct International Fight League (IFL) fire sale. He looked impressive in his debut for the promotion, submitting Drew McFedries via first round submission (kimura) at UFC Fight Night 15 in Omaha, Neb., on September 17.
UFC 92 features the light heavyweight championship bout between Forrest Griffin and Rashad Evans, as well as the second half of the heavyweight tournament eliminator between interim division champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Frank Mir.

The Ultimate Fighter 7 runner-up CB Dollaway (7-1) will make his third straight Octagon appearance when he takes on UFC veteran Jorge Rivera (15-7) at UFC 92 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, on New Year’s Eve weekend according to WrestlingObserver.com.
“The Doberman” was unsuccessful in his bid to win it all at the TUF 7 finale on June 21, but he was able to rebound and score an impressive submission victory over Jesse “Yellow Submarine” Taylor less than a month later at Fight Night 14.
Facing him will be a very tough albeit inconsistent fighter in Rivera. “El Conqistador” came up short against Martin Kampmann at UFC 85 after a very impressive KO victory over Kendall Grove at UFC 80.
This should be a good test for Dollaway. Rivera has knockout power and has ended 10 of his 15 wins by (T)KO. No doubt Dollaway will try and utilize his wrestling to keep things on the ground until he can find a submission against the crafty veteran.
UFC 92 is scheduled for December 27 and features the light heavyweight championship bout between Forrest Griffin and Rashad Evans as well as the heavyweight tournament elimination bout of Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Frank Mir.

TUF 7 runner up CB Dollaway (7-1) will possibly face UFC veteran Jorge Rivera (15-7) at UFC 92 on Dec. 27 in Las Vegas.
A source close to the fighter told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) of the return date and that, though not signed, Dollaway could face veteran fighter Jorge Rivera (15-7 MMA, 4-5 UFC) at the year-end event.
After losing his second strait loss to The Ultimate Fighter 7 winner Amir Sadollah at the Finale of TUF 7, Dolloway came back at UFC Fight Night 14 and submitted Jesse Taylor with an impressive Peruvian Necktie submission.
Rivera, 36, dropped a disappointing fight to Martin Kampmann in June at UFC 85. Following the loss to Kampmann, a personal tragedy struck when Rivera’s eldest daughter passed away in August.
