Mike Malott fights at welterweight in the UFC.
Cleveland is his birthplace. He trains at Niagara Top Team, and the pro debut was a first-round armbar of James Saunders on April 16, 2011.
He started training in 2006, earned a Bachelor of Commerce at Dalhousie University in Halifax, and holds a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and the rank of Muay Thai Kru. He won WKC nationals in Canada at 17 and the XFFC lightweight title, and before the UFC he worked construction, an insurance job, and as a coach. The striking coach is Kru Alin, and the athlete page remembers Sebastien Halmagean, Alin’s son, who died while deployed with the Canadian Armed Forces.
He knocked Joaquin Buckley out with a knee at 2:32 of the second round on October 17, 2026.
