Hooker says Oliveira killed the BMF title

Dan Hooker says Charles Oliveira killed the BMF title. He told Submission Radio.

Oliveira won it with a unanimous decision over Max Holloway at UFC 326 on March 7, 2026, at 5:00 of the fifth round, on scores of 50-45, 50-45, and 50-45. He has not defended it. Oliveira defends against Diego Lopes on December 12 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Oliveira landed five takedowns and controlled Holloway for 20 minutes and 49 seconds.

Hooker is 36 and 24-15, and Salahdine Parnasse stopped him by TKO at 2:25 of the first round on September 5, 2026, after hurting him to the body and finishing with ground strikes.

Oliveira is 37 and 37-11. Lopes is 31 and 28-8, and Lopes knocked out Steve Garcia at 2:42 of the second round on June 14, 2026, in his first UFC fight at lightweight. Lightweight is 155 pounds (70 kg).

Hooker meets Brian Ortega on November 21 in Doha, which the Doha card lists.

The fight is the main event of UFC 335. Nate Diaz called for the belt after a win at UFC 241, Jorge Masvidal beat him for the inaugural title at UFC 244, Justin Gaethje later beat Dustin Poirier for a vacant belt, and Max Holloway won it at UFC 300. Hooker said it should have stayed with fighters who talk, and he named Bobby Green. Holloway, he said, is the nicest guy in the sport, and too many of those got a turn. Diego Lopes has said he does not expect another fight with Alexander Volkanovski soon, and Hooker called Lopes a strong contender for this belt.

The co-main is Alex Pereira against Sergei Pavlovich. It is Pereira’s second heavyweight fight, and it is not for a title. Pavlovich is ranked No. 2, on a three-fight streak, and he stopped Tallison Teixeira in less than a minute.
