Yodphupa is 5 feet 6 inches (168 cm) and 145.1 pounds (66 kg), and Komawut is 5 feet 5 inches (165 cm) and 142.6 pounds (65 kg). Both are chasing the $100,000 main-roster contract.

They have met three times. Two of the meetings were five-round stadium Muay Thai: Komawut won one, and they drew the other. Komawut won the ONE meeting by split decision at ONE Friday Fights 50 on February 2, 2024, and Yodphupa has not beaten him. Yodphupa worked from range early that night, and Komawut pulled the fight into the clinch.

Komawut said he did not expect another booking, and that the same weight and a similar build made the rematch likely. Komawut said he walked Yodphupa down in that fight and took little damage. Volume decides it, Komawut said, and he wants a quick stoppage if the opening is there. Komawut said he will not rush the plan, and that he expects to stay unbeaten against Yodphupa.

Komawut arrived in ONE in 2023, and he won four of his first five Friday Fights assignments. After the Yodphupa win he went 3-1, and he knocked Panrit Lukjaomaesaiwaree out in the second round in that run. A five-fight skid followed. Komawut beat Kyaw Swar Win by split decision at 3:00 of the third round on August 21, 2026, at The Inner Circle 27, and that win ended the skid. Kyaw Swar Win kicked the body, and Komawut answered with elbows. ONE lists Komawut at 8-7. The results story listed a 54-20 career mark after that win. Komawut had reached 7-2 before the skid. Yodphupa beat Saw Min Min by unanimous decision at 3:00 of the third round on that same August 21 card. Yodphupa has won three of his last five after a three-fight skid. Yodphupa is 7-5 in ONE.

Yodphupa said the skid left Komawut less sharp and less physically dominant. Yodphupa said the first ONE loss came from a predictable attack and a lack of discipline, and that Komawut will meet a different fighter. Yodphupa prepared sharp punches and heavy leg kicks. A friend brought him into ZDM Fight Club, and he added techniques there. Yodphupa started Muay Thai at 12 in Chaiyaphum, fought to support his parents, and moved to Bangkok for the stadium circuit.
